Students are learning various Art and Craft under the guidance of Mrs. Mantu ,Art Teacher throughout the year.

The Art Education Department of Kendriya Vidyalaya Bandel Railway Colony for the session 2024-25 has focused on nurturing the creativity of students by engaging them in a variety of traditional and modern art forms. The activities are thoughtfully designed to help students explore different techniques, styles, and mediums of art. Here’s a detailed look at the practices planned:

    1. Pot Painting in the Traditional Way (Warli Art):

Warli art, a tribal art form from Maharashtra, is known for its simplistic use of white pigment on earthen pots or walls. Students practiced decorating pots in this traditional style, using geometric patterns and figures that represent daily life and nature.

    2. Traditional Madhubani Art on Canvas, Cloth, Paper
Madhubani art, which originates from Bihar, is characterized by intricate detailing, bright colors, and depictions of nature, mythology, and religious themes. The students experimented with this folk art on different surfaces like canvas, cloth, and paper, enhancing their skills in line work and color usage.

    3. Shora Painting:
Shora painting involves creating artwork on dried or baked plates, often using a combination of religious motifs and natural elements. This form of art gave students an opportunity to work on unconventional mediums, focusing on detailed, symmetrical designs.

    4. Clay Modelling:
Students worked with clay to develop three-dimensional models, honing their sculpting skills and understanding of form, proportion, and texture. This hands-on activity encourages creative thinking and gives them the freedom to mold their imagination into tangible objects.

    5. Rangoli Making:
Rangoli, a traditional decorative art form using colored powders, rice, or flowers, is often used in Indian festivals. Students practised creating intricate designs on floors, exploring the cultural significance and artistry behind this age-old tradition.

    6. Poster Making on Given Topics:

To engage students in contemporary issues, they participated in poster-making sessions based on the following themes:

    ● Solar Energy: Highlighting the importance of renewable energy and its conservation.

    ● Water Consumption: Creating awareness about water conservation and sustainable use.

    ● Gandhi Jayanti: Celebrating the principles of Mahatma Gandhi through art.

    ● Swachhata Abhiyan (Cleanliness Campaign): Promoting cleanliness and hygiene in society.

    ● Education: Emphasizing the value of education and its role in shaping the future.

    ● Many More: Other topics were also introduced, encouraging students to think critically and artistically about social, environmental, and cultural themes.

These activities aim to provide a balanced exposure to both traditional Indian art forms and modern, socially relevant themes, fostering creativity, cultural awareness, and a sense of social responsibility among students.
